Roy D. Benton

Roy Dewayne Benton, 50, of Mexico, died June 19, 2008, at Audrain Medical Center as a result of an accident.

Funeral services will be held Sunday June 22, at 2 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Clouse officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Benton was born in Mexico on April 3, 1958, a son of Elmer Roy Jr. and Roseanna Joy Zeigler Benton. His surviving spouse is Gloria Perry Benton. He owned and operated Benton Tree Service in Mexico for 15 years. He was a member of the Church of God (Holiness).

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Roy D. Benton Jr., Columbia, Christopher Scott Benton, Auxvasse, and Timothy David Benton, Columbia; two daughters, Anita Joy Benton and Shelly Marie Harrison, Monroe, Utah; one brother, Randall Benton, Mexico; two sisters, Marcella Johnson and husband Gary and Cheryl Poindexter and husband Roger, Mexico; and eight grandchildren.
