Roy R. Zumbehl, 81, of Auxvasse, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Auxvasse with Pastor Eddie Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will follow at the Auxvasse City Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home.

Roy was born on September 23, 1943, in St. Charles, the son of Ralph and Iona (Bruns) Zumbehl. On April 10, 1971 he married Jean Scott, who survives.

Roy graduated from the St. Charles High School in 1961. He was part of the Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Auxvasse, where he enjoyed being part of the church family.

Roy was never one to sit still for long. He loved being outside—whether he was out fishing, hunting, working in the garden, or building something in his shop. Being outdoors and staying busy was just part of who he was.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; one daughter, Gayle Hofeling (Gary) of St. Paul; four sons, Thomas "Tom" Richards of Auxvasse, Douglas Richards (Beth) of Warrenton, Stephen Zumbehl (Paula) of St. Charles, and Patrick Zumbehl (Casey) of Wellsville; two brothers, David Zumbehl of Jefferson City and Donald Zumbehl of Benton City; two sisters, Joan Brengle of O'Fallon and Sharon Bishop of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Howard Zumbehl.
