Russell Stone



Russell Lee Stone, 67, of Mexico, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at 2:05 p.m., at Audrain Medical Center. Russell had been a resident at Gamma Road in Wellsville for a little over a year.


Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Baitinger officiating.


Mr. Stone was born on Feb. 13, 1944, in Mexico, a son of James Floyd and Leattia Pearl (Pace) Stone.


He loved his job and co-workers at the Handi-Shop in Mexico, and attended the First United Pentecostal Church. He loved country music and to coon hunt with his dad and brother.


Survivors include four brothers, John Stone Sr., James Stone, Larry Hager, all of Mexico, and Danny Hager, Columbia; three sisters, Evelyn Nachreiner, Jennifer Keller, and Debbie Patrick, all of Mexico; one aunt, Anna Marie Alderson, Mexico; one uncle, John Pace, Mexico; four nephews, John Stone Jr., Jeff Stone, Larry Robinett, and Matthew Nachreiner, all of Mexico; three nieces, Tammy Walden, Teresa Whitworth, and Joyce Groves, all of Mexico; and numerous great nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Robinett; infant brother, Melvin Floyd Stone; one step brother, Ronald Lee Hager Sr.; and one step sister Marlyn Sue Hager.
