Ruth C. Brumitt, 97, of Columbia, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:53 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 5, 2019, at Rising Sun Baptist Church of Auxvasse. Bro. Wil Hoffmann and John Hunter will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the church for a meal following the service.

Ruth was born in East St. Louis, Ill. on Apr. 5, 1921. She was the daughter of Willis and Francis (Grace) Carl. She had been married to Carl M. Brumitt who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church. She loved nature and working on the farm. She also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hogan and husband Johnny, Mexico; two nephews, Chuck Carl and wife Vicki, Columbia, and Cornelius Coughlin and wife Willie, St. Louis; four nieces, Linda Bonnem and husband Randy, of Az., Mary Lou Coughlin, of Tx., Ruth Stoecker and husband Van, Rolla, Mo., and Amy Nichols and husband Steve, Chesterfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren; and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
