Shirley A.
Klusman
Mar 13, 1933 — Dec 8, 2021
Mexico
Shirley Ann Klusman, 88, of Mexico, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Shirley was born in Farber, MO on March 13, 1933, the daughter of A.H. and Mary (Barnes) Weakly. On Sept. 22, 1951, in Mexico, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Klusman, who preceded her in death August 6, 2021.
Shirley devoted her lifetime to raising her family with a loving heart and kind spirit. In addition
to tending to her home life, she worked outside the home at various occupations. She worked many years for the Mexico Ledger, but a heart devoted to helping others led her to a career at the King's Daughters Home, from which she ultimately retired. Shirley was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and greatly enjoyed collegiate and professional basketball and her bridge club. She cherished her pets and was especially fond of dogs and horses.
Shirley is survived by three children: Sherry Ann Hoover (Kenneth), of Mexico; James H. Klusman (Louise), of Mexico; and Jo Ann Wilkerson of Fulton. Additional survivors include five grandchildren: Lindsay Isgrig of Mexico; Christina Seidler (Brad) of Manhattan, KS; Arlina Klusman of Oswego, KS; Jesse Woolfolk (Mary) of Mexico; Brittney Vermillion (Jeremy) of Cowgill, MO; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, sister Vera M. Erickson and husband Carl R. of St.Louis; Oralee Pike (raised in the home) of St. Joseph; and son-in-law, Steven Wilkerson of Fulton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to King's Daughters Home in Mexico. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
