Shirley Ann Money, 89, of Mexico, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away at 11:42 a.m. Friday April 26, 2024.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2024, at Pickering Funeral Home with Ryan Pickering, Bill Sparks, and Jeff Stott officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Shirley was born August 17, 1934, in Ennis, Texas. She was the daughter of James and Zuma Cora (Woods) Hice.

Shirley married Roger Money on April 18, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. Roger preceded her in death on June 22, 2016.

She lived most of her life in the Dallas area. She was a payroll clerk for Continental Emsco Oil Company in Dallas. After she and Roger retired they moved to Mexico to be near Gail's family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. In Mexico, she was actively involved in the AMC Auxiliary, Red Hats, King's Daughters Circle, and the "The Mighty Eight".

Shirley's faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the priority of her life. She was always actively involved in church. She served as treasurer for Grace Baptist Temple in Dallas for many years. She was currently a member of Genesis Church of Mexico. Over the years she made many dear friends in the different churches she attended.

Survivors include one daughter, Gail Pickering (David), of Mexico; two grandchildren, Bethanie Baker (Luke), of Ashland, Ryan Pickering (Kelsey), of Ashland; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Brenna, Addison, and Avery; several nieces and nephews including, Mike Steward (Ann), of Rowlett, Texas, and Cathy Hernandez (Bobby Vassallo), of Dallas, Texas; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband Roger, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herschel Hice, Obanion Hice; three sisters, Margaret Langer, Juanita Shelton, and Billie Jean Steward.

Shirley was given very good care over the last few years from her wonderful friend Linda Traynor, and numerous loving staff and nurses at Teal Lake Assisted Living and The King's Daughters Home.
