Tanner Lowrance



Tanner Eugene Lowrance, 21, of Vandalia, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.


Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Vandalia, with Fr. Russell Judge officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Parish Center. Burial will be in Farber Cemetery.


Mr. Lowrance was born on Nov. 9, 1989, in Mexico, a son of Timothy Lowrance and Christy (Hull) Lowrance. He was a 2008 graduate of Van-Far High School participating in football, basketball, baseball, FFA, MASS Club, Foreign Language Club, Choir, and Band. He played youth soccer for 8 years, and for several years played Legion Baseball. He studied Taekwondo and attained a black belt when he was 6 years old. Tanner played football his freshman year of college at CMU and baseball during his sophomore year at Lindenwood.


He is survived by his father, Tim Lowrance and wife Masha, Vandalia; mother, Christy Lowrance, Vandalia; two brothers, Tyson and Aidan Lowrance, both of Vandalia; one sister, Jacey Lowrance, Vandalia; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Eileen Lowrance, Farber; maternal grandparents, Charles and Rosemary Hull, Farber; and maternal great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Hull, Phillipsburg, Penn.


He was preceded in death by one uncle, Michael Eric Hull.


The family suggests that memorials be made to Van-Far FFA or to the Van-Far Booster Club. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home.
