George "Tom" Rosenthal, 78, of Mexico, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday evening, July 9, 2021.

The family will hold a private memorial service. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Tom was born in Mexico on September 2, 1942, the son of George Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Jesse) Rosenthal. On July 14, 1961, he married Kay Cole who survives.

Tom was a farmer most of his life. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam.  In 2018 he went on Honor Flight #52 and he was very grateful to those who made it possible.

He was well known for his love for Hot Air Ballooning. He enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife Kay, survivors include two sons, Jeff Rosenthal, of Mexico, and Greg Rosenthal of Missouri; two sisters, Nell Woods (Mike), of Troy, Missouri, and Ruth Ann Smith, of Tucson, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry Rosenthal; and one brother, Jim Rosenthal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Missouri Honor Flight. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
