Tonya Neil Wheatley-Herman, 64, of Mexico passed away at 4:20 p.m. Friday February 3 ^rd 2023, with her daughters by her side.

Tonya was born in Hannibal, MO on July 24th 1958, to Delorse Wilson and Hilary E. Wheatley. She graduated from Mexico High school in 1976. Tonya went to Truman State University graduating with a BS in psychology in 1980, She then went to the University of Missouri for a Master's in Education Counseling and Guidance graduating in 1982.

In addition to her love Ken Murray of New Jersey survivors include two daughters, Christina "Niki" Goosey (Herman) and husband David of Clarksville TN, Ashley Winterhalter (Herman) and husband August of Columbia MO; one son, Harrison Herman of Tabernash, CO; two grandsons, Judson and Kashton Goosey of Clarksville TN;  one sister Lawanah L. (Wheatley) Gillette and husband Paul of Mexico; two step brothers, Mark Wilson and wife Marsha of Poplar Bluff, MO and David Wilson of Mexico; step father Pete Wilson of Mexico MO; along with several nieces and nephews.

Tonya enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandsons who knew her as "Nana Monkey". Tonya would never pass up an opportunity to pet a cat. She was not only a mother to her children, but also a mother to many of her children's friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
