Travis Cooper

Travis Michael Coop Cooper, 23, of, Columbia, died on May 30, 2007, in Mexico.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mexico with Bro. Mike Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Garrett, Marty Murphy, Jake Ulmer, Jason Boyer, Greg Goetz, and Brad Brown. The Missouri Tiger Football Team and Dedrick Harrington will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Travis was born on January 3, 1984, in Mexico. He attended Windsor High School in Imperial, and graduated in 2002. He participated in Football and Track and was in Choir and the Show Choir. He was currently a senior at Mizzou and had nearly completed his Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Beta Epsilon Chapter. He served as a student assistant with the Missouri Tiger Football team and traveled with them to the Sun and Independence Bowls. The players called him T. C. He also attended chapel services with the team. Travis had also worked as an intern with the River City Rage indoor football team and the Missouri River Otters hockey team. He was a sports fanatic and his favorite teams were the Cubs and the Bears. His dream was to work for the Chicago Bears.

Travis was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Dragoo and husband David Jr. who was like a dad to him, of Mexico; his father Mike Cooper and his wife Yvonne who was like a mom to him, of Imperial; two brothers, Bryan Figliolo, St. Louis, and David Dragoo III, Mexico; a step-sister, Jessica Erwin, Imperial; grandparents, Gene and Rebecca Cooper, Crystal City, and David Sr. and Dorothy Dragoo, Chicago; and one niece, Ariana Figliolo, Columbia.

One brother, Anthony Figliolo, and grandparents, Gilbert and Wanda Goetz, and Miles and Gerry Relich preceded him in death.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers friends may make memorial contributions to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
