Troi Jaye Buckner

Troi Jaye Buckner, 60, of Mexico, died at 3:10 a.m., Friday May 19, 2017, at University Hospital in Columbia.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 23, 2017, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Bryce Kristofferson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 1:30 at Pickering Funeral Home.

Troi was born in Mexico on January 20, 1957, a daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Starnes) Adkisson. On April 5, 1980, in Mexico, she married Michael D. Buckner. Mr. Buckner survives.

She had previously worked at Mexico Plastics and Brookstone. She was a member of Lockewood Park Baptist Church. Troi enjoyed cooking and watching sci-fi shows and watching horror movies. She also used to quilt. Above all she loved being a grandma.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters, Shauna Adkisson Landin, Mexico, Destini Woods and husband Jamie, Auxvasse, and Meka Buckner and finance' Derrell Curtis, Mexico; three sisters, Toni Jeffries, Mexico, Terry Halter, Sedalia, and Tracey Jones and husband Eddie, Vandalia; six grandchildren plus one due in July; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Tomi Hartegan.
