Virginia Ferrier Stevens
Virginia Ferrier Stevens, 86, of Mexico, died on Dec. 5, 2006, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Pickering Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Ingram officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Stevens was born on July 26, 1920, in Rush Hill, a daughter of Charles Ray and Edna Dorothea Pagel Playter. On Jan. 12, 1946, in Mexico, she married Vernon Ferrier, who died on Dec. 6, 1969. On Apr. 20, 1977, in Reno, Nev., she married George Stevens, who died on Oct. 22, 1996. She had worked in the hospitality industry. She was a member of Kentucky Road Christian Church, and had been active in the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Loyd Keith Ferrier of South America; a daughter, Vickie Lynn Nichols and husband Anthony, Fulton; two sisters, Nora Lea Poage and husband Robert A., Sr., Mexico, and Ruth Cooper and husband Chester, Auxvasse; several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer s Association and sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
