Wallace D. Carter

W.D. Carter, 89, of Mexico, died at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

W. D. was born August 9, 1924, in Mexico, a son of Marvin and Martha (Johnson) Carter. He married Neva (Cox) Carter who survives at the home.

Mr. Carter was a veteran and had served in the Navy.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Carla Frazier of Springfield; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Branigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
