Larry T. Palmer

   Larry T. Palmer, 77, of Mexico, died Tuesday evening in Benton, Ark.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018, at the First Assembly of God Church in Mexico with Pastor Everett Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Pickering Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Larry was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Moberly, Mo., the son of Shellie and Loveta (Lewis) Palmer. On July 11, 1964, he married Deanna Neeson in Clark, Mo. His wife survives.

   Mr. Palmer worked for AP Green Refractories for 35 years. He did numerous different jobs during his employment there. He retired when the plant closed in 2002.

   He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mexico and had served as a deacon. He also enjoyed attending and volunteering at Mexico Senior Center. Larry loved camping and being outdoors.

   In addition to his wife survivors include, three sons, David Palmer, Mexico, Jimmy Palmer (Theresa) Bauxite, Ark., and Stephen Palmer and former daughter in law Danielle Palmer of Mexico; one daughter, Jennifer Chitwood (James), Mexico; one brother, Jack Palmer (Sue), Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Alice Hill, Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Robby) Siegler,  Leesa Palmer, Morgan (Brenden) Chitwood, Hunter Palmer, Sheridan and Collin Chitwood, and Jacob Palmer; and two great grandchildren, Preston Weirich and Sawyer Siegler.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lisa Palmer; and one brother, Danny Palmer.

   In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Mexico Senior Center or to the First Assembly of God Church.
