Chick Selsor, 82, of Columbia, formerly of Mexico, died at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 21, 2018, at University Hospital in Columbia.

   Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday Aug. 25, 2018, at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

   Chick was born in Perry, Missouri on Aug. 12, 1936, the son of Carmen and Iris (Utterback) Selsor.

   He was a painter most of his working years and later was the pro shop manager for Arthur Hill’s Golf Course for several years. He enjoyed golfing, playing softball, bowling, and playing pool  in the senior league at the senior center in Mexico and Columbia. He loved sports and was a Mizzou and Cardinals fan.

Chick was a veteran. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era.

   He is survived by one son, Chris Davis and wife Heiddi, Columbia; four daughters, Patti Eynard and husband Darrell, Jefferson City, Debbie Gibbons and husband Brad, Mexico, Melissa Selsor and husband Devon Kruse, Columbia, and Heather Selsor, Columbia; one sister, Lou Ann Ray, Sunnyvale, CA; 11 grandchildren, Chad Livingston, Lauren Eynard, Blake Eynard, Brittany Lunceford, Brandi Schlemmer, Brock Lunceford, Jamie Pehle, Tyler Gibbons, Jaydin Eierman, Izzie Kruse, and Jackson Kruse; and six great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by one son, Jared Selsor, and his parents.

   The family requests memorials be given to the Arthur Hill’s Golf Association. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.

As the tears roll down my face to hear this !! Chick was one of a kind , great friend, and like said above that little sly smile, you had NO CLUE what he was up to!! Chick fly high my dear friend! Lived next door, played lots of pinochle, he did a lot of painting for Hoffman and Darby stores, our homes, gave me painting tips, which I use to this day!! His golfing tip was "it isn't the driver" lol Another memory was a Sat night about 1 in the morning after Chick, Pat, the Harlow's and Moran's has been to a dance, decided they wanted to play cards, woke Bill and I up, we played pinochle all night, then Bill went to Hoffman store and we cooked breakfast.. such fun memories.. Amazing how he count count cards in double deck pinochle.. wouldn't let you give him a bid, he would bid - Marty Campbell
