I have been friends with Candy, Sid and her children since moving to Mexico to live. Candy and I became close friends we were like brother and sister,we shared lots of fun times together with her family. I will miss her outgoing personality, so different than myself, we spent quality time together and enjoyed each others company. At the end of her life I was blessed to spend time with her and watched as Sid cared for her, he is so giving of himself and like he told me "I am thankful the Lord allowed me to give her the care she needed." God bless the Staples family and may the Lord send comfort to everyone she knew. - Stephen Byars

WE cannot express enough gratitude for Candy! She practically outfitted our entire Art Studio with equipment, supplies, and art. She has made it possible for so many people in our region to enjoy creativity for many many years to come. Candy's impact on our arts community is deep and wide, as an artist herself her joy was immeasurable and her generosity of time, talent and support will never be forgotten. She was always honest and bright. She was just like Sunshine for everyone. She was an accomplished encaustic painter, weaver, paper crafter, acrylic artist, and dabbled in just about everything crafty. Candy was a master encourager. She will be missed. She is family. - Lois Brace
